Spotlight on self-adhesive label production

2016-02-18 –

Within STI Group’s network of European manufacturing facilities, its Hungarian plant in Kecskemét is the sole production location for rolled self-adhesive labels. In recent months the company has made significant investments in technology.

Offset print developments

‘Our print quality is excellent at STI Petőfi Nyomda because we mainly produce labels using offset technology. Combined with high quality die-cutting, the main competitive advantage we offer customers is efficiency for high-volume labelling,’ says Attila Vass, head of sales team. The Kecskemét plant uses the latest print technology to deliver smaller volume orders at competitive prices and also produces unprinted labels.

More colours, more options

Thanks to an investment last year, the plant’s two existing offset printing machines are now capable of six-colour inline print while remaining fully compatible with each other. An additional screen or flexo print can also be applied within the same run, offering even greater flexibility and creativity with maximum efficiency. In December 2015 a third printing machine – a Nilpeter 6+2+2 – was installed at STI Petőfi Nyomda to expand its capacity further.

Format capabilities were also extended; alongside existing label roll and sheet cutting, a folding machine has now been added to satisfy a broader range of customer requirements.

High tech, high efficiency, high growth

‘Our label department has achieved great results lately, with demand for both efficiency and technology steadily increasing. Prospects for self-adhesive labels are looking as positive as for our folding boxes, so we continue to focus on research, development and investment to meet our customers’ expectations,’  says sales director György Kolozsvári.
